A handsome lantern clock with centre verge pendulum made in the 1680s by Thomas Langley of Abingdon, Berkshire.  He was born about 1658 at Stanford, Berkshire, was apprenticed in 1673 to John Quelch at Oxford, was freed in 1687, and worked at Abingdon from about 1688 till 1705 or later.
